The Yes Effect: Following God’s Vision in Real Time

The Yes Effect: Following God’s Vision in Real Time

Following God’s plan isn’t always loud, obvious, or flashy. Most of the time, it starts small—like seed small.

Is This God’s Vision or Just My Idea?

That’s a fair question. Here's the deal: when something hits your spirit first—before it ever becomes an idea in your head—that’s usually God. He plants quiet dreams, passions, or callings that don’t go away. They grow.

Sometimes your passion and God’s plan collide—and that’s when you know you’re stepping into something bigger than you.

Why Do I Gotta Start Small?

'Cause that’s how God works. He’s not about skipping steps. Those small assignments and quiet seasons? They’re training grounds. Think: spiritual gym time. You’re building the character and endurance you’ll need when the big things come.

You wouldn’t bake bread without letting it rise, right? Same goes for your purpose. Don’t rush what God is still prepping.

What If I Hit Resistance?

Spoiler alert: you will. Anytime you’re moving in purpose, pushback will show up. But don’t panic. Here’s how to stay locked in:

  • Go back to what God told you in the beginning

  • Don’t make major moves just because things feel hard

  • Don’t let your current situation rewrite God’s original word

  • Stay grounded—even when things don’t look successful

  • Trust His timing. For real.

Why Can’t I Just Do It Alone?

You weren’t meant to. God sends people into your life who bring what you don’t have. They’ll stretch you, support you, and sometimes challenge you.

Just make sure you’re discerning:

  • Not everyone who shows up is meant to stay

  • Not everyone who helps is meant to lead

  • Don’t brush off help—God might be sending exactly who you need

  • Be humble enough to support someone else’s vision too

How Do I Know When It’s “Go” Time?

Sometimes we confuse urgency with anointing. Slow down. Ask yourself:

  • Is this just a moment, or a move?

  • Have I prayed about this—or just panicked?

  • Are the people closest to me in agreement?

  • Have I sat with this long enough to let God confirm it?

Here’s a solid rule:
If it’s God today, it’ll still be God in 30 days.

Real Talk: What Should I Do This Week?

Ask yourself:

  • Am I forcing the timeline instead of trusting it?

  • Am I rejecting help God is sending?

  • Am I being led by peace or by pressure?

  • Is this a step of faith—or a rush of fear?

Now grab a journal or your notes app and write out what you feel God’s been nudging you toward. Be honest. Don’t edit it. Then commit to walking it out in His timing, not yours.

God’s vision for your life isn’t small. It’s generational. It’s legacy-level. But it starts with your yes.

Stay faithful. Stay open. Stay ready.
