Take Time to Pause

Take time to pause in God’s presence. It will reward you with peace that passes all understanding and a restfulness that restores your soul (King James Bible, 1769/2017).

My weekday mornings start off fast-paced and chaotic. Everyone is scrambling and working together with the sole purpose to get the kids out the door to school. Once the kids are off to school and my husband goes upstairs to work, I have a meeting with God every morning. It is my time to spend with Him to ensure I start my day right. I pause for a moment in His presence and am absolutely quiet. I contemplate the truth that He is God. In that moment, I find rest from all my labor and effort knowing that all things are in HIs hands. Then a peace that only comes from Him, overcomes my soul and I truly find rest. This rest comes from God’s presence and is a benefit of spending time with God (King James Bible, 1769/2017).

Exodus 33:14 in the King James Bible (1769/2017) says ”And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest”. I don’t know about you but I need every chance I can to rest in my life. Finding relaxation is important because it allows you to cease from all work. If we don’t take time to enter the rest that comes from God’s presence, we will continue to work and be busy all the time. It is not God’s plan for you to be busy all the time. If it were His will for you to be busy all the time, He would not say in Psalm 46:10 to “Be still, and know that I am God” or provide rest in His presence (King James Bible, 1769/2017). God wants us to relax, find rest and take time to pause.
